The book of Jonah was written by Jonah about his own life. He was pretty honest about his own shortcomings, so we shouldn’t be too hard on him.

God spoke to Jonah in an audible voice. We think we would like that. We do have His written Word! The important thing is not how God speaks to us, but what we do when He speaks to us.

When asked who he was, Jonah answered that he was a Hebrew, one who fears the Lord God of Heaven. Can the world tell who we are? Whom we serve? Do they have to ask or is it obvious?

Satan has a lot of “digestive gases” that he’s trying to destroy us with. But we have a great story to tell of what we’ve been rescued from!

Everyone has an opportunity to share for the Lord in their situations. We can use the opportunity to speak for the Lord, or we can head for Tarshish. One thing we can never run away from, though, is the Lord.
